Race day was great!

A happy boy came home late Saturday night. Landon ran in with all of his race goodies, including a black and white checked flag. It was a good day with the guys. Kevin, Grandpa, Uncle Matthew and Cuz's Mattison and Ryder rounded out the bunch. I am sure he went to sleep dreaming of race cars that night.

Off to the races, and girlie things . . .

Tomorrow the "boys" are having a "guy" day. Kevin, Landon, Grandpa, Uncle Matthew, Mattison and Ryder are going to hit the race track for a day of male bonding. Landon has been excitedly anticipating this day. Last night, Kevin and I found the two pictures (above) on our bed.

The girls and I are going to have a "girlie" day. Maybe we are going to get our nails done in the morning and then we have tentative scrapbook plans. Sounds like fun to me! No testosterone allowed please!

Have a great weekend!

Hello Kitty & New Beach Cruiser!

Me with my sweet sister Robin (the best sister ever!)

A girl couldn't ask for more, at least not this girl. Saturday was Valentine's Day, and Sunday was my birthday, which made things extra sweet. My amazing sister called to see if she could take the kids overnight on Saturday, which ends up being a big undertaking since we both have three kids. We aren't often without the kids so spending time with Kevin is a much treasured and rare treat. We had a great night. For dinner we went to the Yardhouse. We had a 1-1/2 hour wait so Kevin indulged me by going to the MAC store so I could make a purchase. They just came out with a Hello Kitty line and I had to have something from that line! I am still a big fan of Hello Kitty, I just can't help myself. I ended up getting a cute little eyeshadow pallet and a makeup brush set that comes in the cutest Hello Kitty container. Quite an indulgence, I must say, but thank you Honey!

Since Sunday was my birthday, my awesome friend Linda asked if she could watch the kids for us so we could go see a movie! What? A real live "big people" movie without animated characters? Another rare treat, indeed. Well yes, you certainly can watch them! So off we went. I made poor Kevin watch a "chick flick". I wasn't sure how good it would actually be myself but I wanted something light-hearted, with a lot of fluff. We saw, "He's Just Not that Into You" and I think we were both surprised at how good it actually was. Before the movie, I drug him to Joann Fabric because they had some scrapbook paper packs on sale and I just couldn't resist. I must say that Kevin was quite the good sport. He didn't even complain one time! The funny thing was when we came out to get into the car and both cars beside us had husbands in them, waiting for their wives!

My brand-spankin new beach cruiser! In pink no less!

Okay so one of the best parts of my birthday was my birthday present. I walked into the garage to get into the car and sitting there was a brand new pink beach cruiser, just for me! And it is a nice one too. The picture doesn't quite do it justice. This is my very first brand new bicycle, EVER, and only my second bike! The last time I was on a bike other then at the gym was when I was a kid. My sweet husband had it hidden in our neighbors garage. He had cleaned it and adjusted it and it was all ready for me. Of course I had to take it for a spin, even if I was wearing boot high heels. I can't wait to ride it again, once the rain has stopped.

We ended the day at Kobe's Japanese Steakhouse with the kids. It is a favorite of ours and we seem to end up there for many of our birthday celebrations. The food is prepared fresh in front of you and it is quite a show. I had the prawns and fillet mignon, which I shared with Emma and Landon because "my steak was better than theirs". All in all, what fun, and what a truly blessed birthday I had. So . . . can I do it again next week?????
Love,

Michelle

What a perfect way to end the evening . . . dinner at Kobe's!

Does it ever feel . . .

Does it ever feel like electronics are running your life? Yeah, it feels that way to me too. It seems like we have so many things to plug in that we are running out of plugs. I did get this cute little "gadget" station at Target so now we can have everything plugged into one place! No more cords and gadgets hanging everywhere.

I am off for a fun day with a friend. Family and friends, now that is truly what is important! I hope you enjoy your weekend, (electronics free!)

Spelling Bee Outcome . . .

Moran Spelling Bee Kids!

Mrs. Martinez and Landon.

Us!

Me and my Emmie!

My Mom and Emma before Bee.

Landon eating lunch before Spelling Bee.

Kevin and Savannah having lunch.

Kiddo's after the Bee.

Jordan Christian Academy Spellers!

As you know, the kids went to the ACSI District Spelling Bee this past Friday. Kevin took off work and my mom also joined us since we had three kids in the "Bee" this year. I ended up being a hostess in the third grade room. This is the first time I have done that, but the Spelling Bee runs by having teachers and parents judge and do what I did. At least I was able to be in the same room with my Emmie.

This Bee was rough! I have never seen so many kids participating. The average has always been 23 or so per grade but this year, Savannah had 30 and Emma and Landon's class had close to that. We didn't set any records this year but I am proud all the same. They worked hard to get there and they did their best. I can't ask for more. Landon thinks he finished about 8th although Kevin said it was more like 18th, LOL. I was worried he would be very upset but he took it pretty well. He did get a Rice Crispy treat at the end so I am sure that helped soothe the pain. Emma made it about halfway and Savannah got to 5th, which is not too shabby at all. She forgot the "g" in poignancy. Go Moran kids! I am so proud and Daddy is too!

Our weekend was good and I am catching up on things this week. Seems like I have a lot of little piddly things to do. I am chomping at the bit to get to my jewelry but so far try as I might, it is not happening quite yet. Mommy and wife first, you know?

Anyway, I was never so happy to throw the Spelling Bee lists away. I have had enough . . . at least until next year!

Have a great week!
