Jo, I didn't realize that! Savannah was my Mother's Day surprise. She was three weeks early. I had planned brunch that day, not birth. :)
ReplyDeleteOK - This may sound rediculous but... the most memorable Mothers Day was last year - I woke up to a broken water heater and a wet hallway! HAHA!!!!
ReplyDeletehi michelle...
ReplyDeletei enjoyed chatting with you yesterday...and comparing notes. funny how similar we operate :) the dedication was awesome! it was indeed a "Great Friday"!
okay...my most memorable mothers day was my first. my husband had taken brennen to have his picture taken and surprised me with it all framed (brennen was 3 months old). they have all been pretty special...:)
My favorite Mother's Day memory was the first after my 1st child was born. I had cancer surgery when I was pregnant and just being alive to experience Mother's Day was a joyous day!!! That was ten Mother's Days ago!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Mother's Day memory is when I got to share the birth of my niece on Mother's Day :o) I had experienced "birth" before my big sis and I was so excited to watch her experience it too!
ReplyDeleteNow that my mother has been gone for 9 years, any Mother's Day that we celebrated with her is very special! Having two wonderful sons of my own makes every Mother's Day special for me!
ReplyDeleteMy sons recently gave me a lovely clock that plays various classic music at each hour. This is my early Mother's Day gift. It is absolutely gorgeous. Having my son's pick out something special just for me is all I need on Mother's Day. Your necklace is lovely. Please enter my name in your drawing so I may honor my children by putting their names around my necklace and above my heart.
Many thanks, Cindi

Favorite Monther's day memory, spending it with my birth mom and my adoptive mom... was very special to me. Anjie
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Mother's Day memory is having James home from the hospital. This was his first holiday home. He spent his first 5 months in the hospital so this was a joy!
ReplyDeleteRanda
My all time fav Mommy Day memory is my first. My triplet girls were 3 days old! I went to the NICU to hold them and a sweet NICU RN had made choc. kiss flowers and pillows with each daughters name/feet prints for all the moms to have as a keep sake! I was so touched by her thoughtfulness. My girls will be 6 the day before Mothers Day this year and I still treasure the memories of that very first one.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Mother's Day will be my first one this year. I have always wanted to be a mommy and now I have triplets!
ReplyDeleteMy first Mother' day was my favorite. I had been married 15 years before I got to have my first mothers day. I had 5 month old triplets. On Mother's Day they got a virus and I spent the day with them throwing up on me. But that was what it was all about... the bad & the good, being a mom!
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable Mother's Day was while my triplets were still in the NICU. It was my first mother's day with 4 children. My babies were only a month old, and all still weighed at or under 2 pounds. It was so precious to hold all of them that day. And the NICU handed out flowers to all of the mommies that day, which I thought was so sweet. ^_^
ReplyDeleteMy best Mother's Day was last year when I was allowed to finally go home with my new triplets! I had spent 5 months, 400 miles away from my 3 older children and my husband, hospitalized with the triplets due to early labor and almost delivery, in January 2008! It was the saddest, scariest and most fullfilling time of my life. On Mother's Day last year, the NICU surprised me and told me I could go home with all 3 of my babies!!!! We were on the first plane home and finally my family was reunited!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe most special memory for me is my first Mother's Day with my trio. My own mom had paased away and it was so special to have a reason to celebrate the day again.
ReplyDeleteoh i would love to win this for my mom! i'm not a mom yet! but i do remeber waking up early every mothers day to make her breakfast in bed!!! =)
ReplyDeleteThis is SO pretty! I really don't remember my first Mother's Day (things were a little crazy!!!)!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is from 11 years ago-My then 8 yr old son wrote a letter about what made me the greatest mom. He asked my husband to send it in to a local radio station for a contest and he won! We won a nice dinner at a fancy restaraunt, ice cream at BaskinRobins for dessert, a $100 shopping spree at a local drug store( I still have the lawn chairs I bought) and all of this was while we rode around in a limo! I was able to take my kids,dh, and 2 sisters and my mom too! It was awesome and so sweet of him, he is now 19 and he is leaving the night of Mother's day this year to go to USMC boot camp, I am tearing up just typing this! I will miss him so much. I still have a houseful including the triplets (20months), 5yr old ds, and a 13 yr old ds but Austin will always be my 1st "baby" Marine or not :)
ReplyDeleteI have had good mothers days for the last 18 years with my daughter and now i am hoping to have the triplets before this mothers's day so i can spend it with them.
ReplyDeleteMy younger son always tells me he loves me whenever he leaves the house or before he hangs up the phone. He has done this since my mom died in 1991. He does this even if he is with his friends. When one of them tried to bust his chops about it, he told them that he does it because you never know what might happen and he wants me to know he loves everything I do for him. (He's 21 now)
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I could pick one specific Mother's Day as my favorite. But I know that I really enjoyed 2005, the year that I was still pregnant with my triplets. My sister was still alive and so healthy... My whole family was together and it was just a really gorgeous day... I loved being together as a family celebrating my Mom and thinking about what the future held for me as a new Mom!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite mothers day was last mothers day and my first one! I had brand new triplets and my husband let me sleep ALL day. I don't think I even left the bedroom unless I had to pee. :)
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable, but bittersweet memory was Mother's Day of 2004. I had just lost my first babies, being born at 22 weeks. I was a mom, but had nothing to show for it. My sister flew to TN from DC to spend the weekend with me and it meant more to me than anything else.
ReplyDeleteNow, I have 3 more boys so....Mother's Day 2006 was a big day too. I had children to prove that I WAS a mama.
